Perfection, my ass.

Sometimes, I hate being a girl. It just sucks. Even without the whole period thing, its a lot to live up to. There is just so much that is expected from you from so many people. The main issue, of course, is boys. Not having a boyfriend makes life so complicated. You have to be able to please every single person that you walk past, as opposed to just that one guy. Whats up with that? You have to be hotter than the girl next to you, but not as bitchy. You have to be the perfect amount of potential to be a best friend and a girl friend. Be able to impress his friends with your knowledge about video games or sports and yet, be hot enough to make them jealous. You have to make him sandwiches and want to suck his... You have to have the confidence to show your imperfections, but you can't be too weird or fucked up. You have to be polite. His mother has to like you, but you can't be too goodie-two-shoes. You have to pretend like you are going to pay for shit. Pretend like you don't care when he says that wrong shit. You have to put up with his shit, but there is no way he'll deal with yours. You have to have never dated any of his friends, but who cares if he's fucked every one of yours. You can't be too tall, or too short, or too fat, or too skinny. You can't like different music than him. You have to like the same movies and books and music as him. You have to be all of this shit all at the same time...

Let me just say, to every girl out there: You are perfect just the way you are. Don't ever change for any man. Do what you want, like what you want, be who you are. Someday, you will find him. You will find the guys that is perfect for you.
A good friend of mine recently opened up my eyes to the things a girl needs. She needs a man to open doors for her. To hold shit. To offer to pay, even if she will end up paying. Someone who has a job. Someone who wants her for her. Someone who will deal with what she needs. A girl needs the perfect man to find her, sweep her off her feet, and show her to the world as the perfect girl for him. A girl needs what she needs, not to give him what he needs.
